This Acceptable Use Policy is part of the Terms of Service between CargoScope LLC (“SalesScope”, “we”, “us”) and every customer. It applies to everything sent or done through SalesScope, by every account, workspace, user and connected mailbox. The customer is responsible for making sure its users follow it.
1. Acceptable use: what SalesScope is for
SalesScope is for business-to-business outreach: relevant emails and calls from a real person at a real business to people at other businesses, whose role makes the message relevant to them, and whom you have a lawful basis to contact. Follow-ups that stop when someone replies, asks to stop or bounces are part of that.
SalesScope is not for bulk marketing to consumers, newsletters to people who never signed up, or any email the recipients would reasonably see as unsolicited bulk email. If that is what you want to send, do not use SalesScope for it.
2. Anti-spam requirements for every email
- An honest sender. Send only from mailboxes and domains you are authorized to use, with a From name and address that accurately identify you or your business. Do not forge or alter headers, or hide where a message came from.
- Honest subject lines and content. The subject line must reflect what the email is about. Do not add “Re:” or “Fwd:” to suggest an earlier conversation that never happened, and do not send fake invoices, false urgency, or misleading claims about you, your offer or the recipient.
- A working unsubscribe in every outreach email. SalesScope adds an unsubscribe link and one-click unsubscribe headers to every campaign and sequence email. Do not remove, hide or obstruct them, and do not make opting out harder than one click or one reply. One-off emails and replies you write by hand carry no unsubscribe link; if you use them for outreach, tell people how to opt out where the law requires it.
- Honor opt-outs everywhere, quickly. When someone unsubscribes or asks you to stop, by any channel, stop contacting them at every address you have for them. SalesScope does this automatically for unsubscribe clicks and clear removal requests; act promptly on the replies it flags as possible opt-outs. Never re-import or re-add people who opted out, and only allow a suppressed address again when that person has asked to hear from you. The US CAN-SPAM Act allows at most 10 business days, and as of October 2026 Yahoo’s sender best practices ask bulk senders to honor unsubscribes within 2 days.
- Information the law requires. Include everything the law requires where you and your recipients are, such as a valid physical postal address in commercial email under the US CAN-SPAM Act, and your identity and contact details under EU and UK rules. SalesScope does not add a postal address for you: put it in your signature or template.
- A lawful basis for every contact. Have consent or another lawful basis for each person you contact, and for how you obtained their details. Depending on where they are, that may mean, for example, a documented legitimate interests assessment under the GDPR, the rules on unsolicited email to individuals and to corporate subscribers under the UK’s PECR, or express or implied consent under Canada’s CASL.
3. Lists and data
- No purchased lists without a documented lawful basis. Do not import bought, rented, shared or traded lists unless you can show us in writing, on request, where the data came from, that it was collected lawfully, and your lawful basis for contacting each person on it.
- No scraped or guessed personal addresses. Do not harvest addresses with scrapers or bots, generate addresses in bulk by guessing patterns, or import the personal (non-work) addresses of people you have no relationship with.
- Check addresses and keep lists clean. SalesScope checks every address and its domain before a bulk send and will not send to addresses nobody has checked. Remove addresses that bounce or turn out to be invalid, and stop emailing people who have shown no interest for a long time.
- Keep bounce and complaint rates low. Keep your bounce rate low (SalesScope pauses a campaign whose bounces pass your company’s limit, 5% by default) and your spam complaint rate within the sender requirements that mailbox providers publish. As of October 2026, Google’s email sender guidelines ask senders to keep the spam rate reported in Postmaster Tools below 0.1% and never to reach 0.3%, and Yahoo’s sender best practices set 0.3% as the limit.
- Authenticate your domains. Set up SPF, DKIM and DMARC for every domain you send from; the major mailbox providers require all three of bulk senders. SalesScope checks them for you, and our SPF, DKIM and DMARC guide explains how to set them up.
4. Prohibited content and conduct
Do not use SalesScope to send, store or link to:
- anything illegal, or anything that promotes illegal goods, services or activity;
- phishing, or any attempt to obtain passwords, payment details or other sensitive information under false pretenses;
- malware, or links to malware, or links that disguise where they lead;
- content that impersonates a person, company or brand, or falsely claims an affiliation or endorsement;
- harassment, threats or intimidation, or repeated contact with someone who has asked you to stop;
- hate speech, or content that promotes violence or discrimination against people because of who they are;
- sexually explicit or adult content, and anything that sexualizes minors, which we report to the authorities;
- deceptive financial offers, such as get-rich-quick or work-from-home schemes, pyramid schemes, unlicensed investment or lending offers, debt relief or credit repair schemes, and misleading cryptocurrency or trading promotions;
- content that infringes anyone’s intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights.
And do not:
- send on behalf of any person or business without their authority, or from a mailbox or domain you are not authorized to use;
- evade or disable SalesScope’s sending limits, warm-up ramp, address validation, bounce circuit breaker, suppression list or opt-out handling — for example by spreading one campaign across extra mailboxes or accounts to get past a limit, rotating domains to escape a damaged reputation, re-importing bounced or suppressed addresses, or altering addresses to slip past checks;
- share logins, or resell, sublicense or give access to SalesScope to anyone outside your organization (agencies may run outreach for their own clients, as the Terms allow);
- probe, scan or test the security of SalesScope, or try to get around its authentication or access controls, unless we have agreed to it in writing;
- attack or interfere with the Service, for example with denial-of-service attacks, or by sending automated requests faster than the app itself would;
- copy or extract data from SalesScope by automated means other than the features and exports we provide;
- collect or use data in breach of the terms of the service it came from, such as scraping a website or professional network against its terms, or using a mailbox provider’s service against its terms;
- use the dialer for calls that break the law, including do-not-call rules.
5. Enforcement
SalesScope tracks sending signals such as bounce rates, opt-outs and provider holds, and we review every report sent to abuse@salesscope.io. We do not routinely read your email, but when we investigate a report or a security signal, we may review the relevant messages, lists and account activity.
If we believe an account has broken this policy, we may, at our discretion:
- pause sending from a mailbox, a campaign or the whole account;
- require changes before sending resumes, such as removing a list or checking addresses;
- suspend or close the account under the Terms, without a refund for serious or repeated breaches;
- cooperate with mailbox providers, blocklist operators, law enforcement and the people affected, including by sharing relevant information about the abuse.
Where we reasonably can, we will tell you what we found and give you a chance to fix it first. For serious harm, such as phishing, malware, an active spam run or a compromised account, we act first and explain afterwards. SalesScope’s automatic guardrails, such as the bounce circuit breaker, may also pause sending on their own; they work alongside this policy, not instead of it.
6. Reporting abuse
If you received spam or other abusive email sent through SalesScope, write to abuse@salesscope.io and include:
- The full email with its headers. Forward it as an attachment, or paste its full source. The headers show which mailbox and system sent it. In Gmail, open the message, choose More (the three dots), then Show original.
- When you received it, and the address it was sent to.
- Anything else that helps, such as earlier emails, or opt-out requests that were ignored.
We review every report. We may share it with the customer concerned, with your personal details removed where possible, and we act under this policy. To stop emails from a sender straight away, use the unsubscribe link in the message. Security vulnerabilities go to security@salesscope.io.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as laws, mailbox provider requirements and abuse patterns change. We will tell account admins about material changes by email or in the app before they take effect. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
